The Pouches
What they are and what's in them.
What is in an M.O.S. energy pouch?
Natural caffeine from guarana, and L-theanine. Nothing else doing any work. Zero nicotine, zero tobacco, zero sugar.
Our 200mg pouches carry 200mg of caffeine and 75mg of L-theanine — 275mg of active ingredients per pouch. Exact milligrams for every flavor are printed on the can and listed on each product page: Spearmint, Crisp Citrus and Watermelon.
What are nootropic pouches?
Nicotine-free pouches containing cognitive enhancers such as caffeine and L-theanine, used to support energy, focus, mood, wakefulness and mental clarity. They sit in your lip like a traditional pouch, but there is no tobacco and no nicotine in them.
Why is there L-theanine in them?
L-theanine is an amino acid found primarily in tea leaves. It is commonly used to support a state of calm alertness rather than drowsiness.
At the caffeine levels we use, it helps keep the experience steady instead of spiky. Most other high-caffeine pouches skip it, or add it without telling you how much. Here's why we dose the way we do.
Where does the caffeine come from?
Natural caffeine derived from guarana, from the seeds of the Paullinia cupana plant.
How does one pouch compare to an energy drink or a coffee?
One 200mg pouch carries more caffeine than either — 200mg against roughly 150mg in a 16 fl oz energy drink and 95mg in an 8 fl oz coffee — with zero calories and zero sugar.
On cost, a pouch runs about $0.67 against $3.49 for an energy drink and $4.00 for a coffee-shop coffee. At two servings a day that is roughly $489 a year versus $2,548 and $2,920.

- Pouch cost based on a single can at $9.99 for 15 pouches. Multi-packs bring it to $0.53 a pouch.
- Coffee priced at coffee-shop rates for an 8 fl oz cup. Brewed at home it is far cheaper.
- Annual figures assume two servings daily of each. This is not caffeine-equivalent: two pouches is 400mg against 300mg and 190mg.
- Energy drink and coffee figures are typical values and vary by brand and preparation.
No cooler, no cup, no mess, nothing to carry out. See the full lineup.
How many pouches are in a can?
15 pouches per can.
Do the energy pouches contain nicotine?
No. Our energy pouches contain zero nicotine and zero tobacco. Our Nixodine line is a separate product and is also nicotine-free and tobacco-free — see the Nixodine section below for the full explanation.
Are they sugar free?
Yes. Zero sugar.
What is the difference between the flavors?
Spearmint and Crisp Citrus both carry 200mg of caffeine and 75mg of L-theanine. Watermelon is our lighter option. Every product page lists exact milligrams.
Which one should I start with?
The M.O.S. Vigilance 3‑Pack at $25.99 — three cans (Spearmint, Crisp Citrus, Watermelon), 45 pouches. That is the best way to try all three.
Using Them
How to use one and what to expect.
How do I use a pouch?
1. Place — between your upper gum and lip for optimal absorption.
2. Moisten — moisten the pouch naturally to optimize flavor and performance.
3. Feel it — that's it.
How fast do they work?
Our pouches are designed to absorb through the oral mucosa rather than the stomach, which is faster than swallowing caffeine. Some users report feeling the effects within 2 to 5 minutes.
Will it keep me up after shift?
Caffeine has a half-life of roughly five hours, meaning half of it is still in your system five hours later. If you are trying to sleep when you get off, time your last pouch accordingly.
Will they stain my teeth or bother my gums?
The pouches are white, tobacco-free, and formulated to be easy on the gums. Follow the directions, rotate where you place it, and stay within the daily maximum.
Do they hold up in heat?
Sealed cans handle field and jobsite conditions better than any drink. Store them at room temperature and don't leave them on a dash in direct sun.
Safety & Dosage
The part we would rather over-explain than under-explain.
200mg pouches: maximum 2 per day. 100mg pouches: maximum 4 per day. 18+.
Not for anyone pregnant, nursing, or sensitive to caffeine.
What are the side effects?
Caffeine can cause jitteriness, elevated heart rate, headache and sleep disruption, especially above your usual tolerance. Regular daily use can build tolerance and mild dependence, in the same way coffee does. Start with one pouch and see how you respond.
Can I use these with pre-workout, coffee or an energy drink?
Add up the caffeine before you combine anything. One 200mg pouch is already half the recommended daily limit, and most pre-workouts run 150 to 300mg on top of that. We recommend against combining them.
I'm pregnant, on medication, or have a heart condition. Can I use these?
Talk to your doctor first. We can't advise on individual medical situations, and these are high-dose caffeine products.
Is there an age requirement?
Energy pouches are 18+. Nixodine pouches are 21+.
Will these show up on a drug test?
Caffeine and L-theanine are not tested for on standard employment or military drug panels, and neither is a controlled substance. Check your unit or department policy on supplements regardless — policies vary and that is your call to make, not ours.
Can I use them on duty?
That depends entirely on your department, unit or command policy on supplements. Check before you carry them on shift.
Nixodine
A separate product line. Adults 21 and over.
For adults 21 and over.
Contains no nicotine and no tobacco. Acts on the same receptor family as nicotine and may be habit-forming. Long-term effects have not been established. Not a smoking or nicotine cessation aid.
What is Nixodine?
A synthetic alkaloid that is structurally similar to nicotine but chemically distinct. It contains no nicotine and no tobacco. Read the full explanation.
Is it nicotine-free?
It contains no nicotine. It does act on the same receptor family as nicotine, so it is not a nicotine-free experience. We think that distinction matters and we would rather state it plainly than let you find out on your own.
Will it help me quit nicotine?
No. It is not a cessation aid and we do not sell it as one. If you want to quit nicotine, talk to a doctor.
Is it habit-forming?
It may be. It acts on the receptors associated with nicotine dependence, and long-term effects in humans have not been established. Anyone with a history of substance dependence should skip it.
How much Nixodine is in a pouch?
6mg per pouch. Printed on every can and listed on every product page.
Who should not use it?
Anyone under 21, anyone pregnant or nursing, and anyone with a history of substance dependence.
Does Nixodine contain caffeine?
No. Nixodine and our caffeine pouches are separate products. If you want caffeine, that's the energy line.

About M.O.S.
Who makes these and why.
What does M.O.S. stand for?
Members of Service. We are a veteran and first responder owned company started by three working firefighters in a busy New York metropolitan area. Read our story.
Who is this built for?
First responders, military, healthcare workers, shift workers and tradesmen — anyone working long hours on minimal rest. If you work a 9–5 and want a light focus pouch, there are gentler products out there and we'd rather point you to them.
Do you donate any profits?
Yes. A portion of every sale goes toward helping members of the military and first responders suffering from substance abuse, and toward eliminating veteran and first responder suicide. Here's why.
Where are the pouches made?
In an FDA-registered, GMP-certified, ISO-compliant facility.
Are your products FDA approved?
No — and no dietary supplement is. Our manufacturing facility is FDA-registered, which governs how products are made. That is not the same as FDA approval, and any supplement brand telling you otherwise is stretching it.
Why are your pouches stronger than other brands?
Because our customers already have a high caffeine tolerance. Most are drinking two or three energy drinks a shift, and a 25mg pouch was never going to do anything for them. So we dosed to match — one pouch, one 16 oz energy drink — and added a real dose of L-theanine to keep it steady. The full reasoning is here.
Didn't find your answer?
Ask us. We're three firefighters and we read every message.
